Five HEALTHY Snacks For The First Week Back.

Five HEALTHY Snacks For The First Week Back.
Instead of the same old New Year’s resolution, why not have a New Year's REVOLUTION? It's simple! You can do it! We'll help, with monthly tips to make 2017 your healthiest (and sweetest) year yet.

Here's your first tip:
After a holiday season of crazy eating, be sure to start the year off right with healthy choices. But good news – you don't have to say goodbye to sweet snacks and desserts! Thanks to Dr. John's, you have plenty of healthy options. Let's take a look.

Everyone loves chocolate chip cookies. They're the perfect snack or dessert for any occasion. But now they're even better. In this recipe, we've replaced mountains of sugar with natural sweeteners. Lower in calories, better for teeth, every bit as delicious.
Ingredients
1 c. Almond Butter
3/4 c. Birch Xylitol
1 Large Egg
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
1/4 tsp. Celtic Sea Salt
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
2. In medium mixing bowl, with a large spoon, mix almond butter, xylitol, egg, vanilla extract, salt and baking soda.
3. Fold in dark chocolate chips.
4. Using a cookie scoop to spoon cookie dough onto Silpat lined baking sheet.
5. Flatten slightly by making a criss-cross pattern with a fork.
6. Bake for 13-15 minutes.
7. Cool on a rack.
Note: At 13 minutes the cookies may seem underbaked. Still, take them out of the oven and move immediately to a rack. They'll firm up as they cool. If you bake longer, the bottoms will burn.
Keep it simple. Slow-savor a few pieces from Dr. John’s Caramel Collection. Sugar-free, diabetic-friendly, and just plain delicious.
Dr. John’s Chocolate bars are 70% dark cacao. They get their sweetness from "cavity-fighting" Birch Xylitol and have natural flavors and colors. Nut butter has protein, healthy fats, fiber, vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals. It's an uncommonly healthy and satisfying combo. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
4 teaspoons natural peanut, almond, cashew or pistachio butter
Preparation
Top each chocolate square with ½ teaspoon nut butter of your choice. Simple! And delicious.

A fun way to relive a bit of the candy cane vibe from last month with Dr. John's Peppermint Candy. The sweet, minty flavor has all the joy and none of the sugar!
Dr. John’s gourmet xylitol lollipops come in a wide variety of flavors, colors, and shapes. Including the fun and popular tooth shape. Kosher, Gluten Free, and Dairy Free, high in fiber, with cavity-fighting xylitol. Next time you reach for a lollipop, don't be a sucker. Go with Dr. John's!

Stay tuned for next month's tip.
A New Year's Revolution doesn't mean you and your family have to give up all yummy treats. You can be healthy and still enjoy delicious snacks, as long as you're smart about it.
Good luck, and viva la revolution!
